I chose Ancient Egyptian art as my take for this paper. I had the pleasure to view the The Quest for Immortality: Treasures of Ancient Egypt blast at the National G every last(predicate)ery of Art in heavy(p) DC back in 2002. I was there for run short at the time and have always been fascinated with Egyptian culture and building skills. The part that really drew me to chew the demo was the fact that many of the pieces had never been on exhibit outside of Egypt before then. Various pieces of jewelry, painted reliefs, religious ritualistic devices and sarcophagus were include in the display.I was somewhat overwhelmed at first since the all exposure I had previously was through movies and the television in general. Needless to say the television does not do Egyptian art justice. Each piece was very intricate and take and showed the Egyptians devotion and keen interest in the after demeano r. The sarcophagi were very polished and it was obvious great care was taken in apiece detail of the design. This shows just how much faith they placed in preparing their dead for a proper reception in the afterlife. The pieces on display, especially the jewelry and statues showed how much magic and mysticism qualify the everyday life of an Egyptian.

Their art works also showed a sense of balance and order that guided their everyday life both at home and outside. Egyptian culture relied severely on their belief in their many gods. This was very unpatterned in their art as there were many diametrical st atues, pieces of jewelry and reliefs that de! picted several different gods. These statues were often viewed as physical manifestations of their gods that would show their devotion and obedience. These forms of cultural expression severalise to what I already knew, and have since learned about the same(p) time period.
